"The hardest battle
in life is to be nobody but yourself in a world
is doing its best, night and day, to make you
like everybody else."
Those are my two favorite words, applicable to
every situation, be it happy or bleak.
The sun is rising? And yet it will set.
A night of anguish? And yet it, too, will pass.
The important thing is to shun resignation, to
refuse to wallow in sterile fatalism."
Elie Wiesel, All Rivers Run to the Sea
"Even if you're
on the right track, you'll get run over if you
For I can see that in the midst of death, Life
persists; in the midst
of untruth, Truth persists; in the midst of darkness, Light persists.
An eye for an eye will blind the world.
-- Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
"Courage is resistance of
fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear."
- Mark Twain "
Some men see things as they
are, and say, 'Why?' I dream of things as
they never were, and ask, 'Why not?'" - George
"Sometimes you have to
stand alone to make sure you still can."

"Why not go out on a
limb? Isn't that where the fruit is?" -Frank Scully
"It's amazing what you can accomplish when you don't
care who gets the
credit." - Harry S. Truman
One night a woman had a dream. She dreamed she was
walking along the
beach with God. Across the sky flashed scenes from her
life. For each
scene, she noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
to her, and the other to God.
When the last scene of her life flashed before her, she
looked back at
the footprints in the sand. She noticed that many times
along the path
of her life there was only one set of footprints in the
sand. She also
noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest
times of her
life. This really bothered her and she questioned God
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you
you'd walk with me
all the way. But I have noticed that during the most
in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't
why when I needed you most you would leave me."
God replied, "My precious child, I love you and
would never leave you.
During your times of suffering, when you see only one set
footprints, it was then that I carried you."
